Glyndebourne Festival Artists 2013

This summer I have been invited to exhibit a body of work at Glyndebourne Opera House as part of the Summer Season. I have made work based on the opera Ariadne auf Naxos, which they are presenting at the beginning of the season.

Mostly oil on gesso, the pieces explore the notion of Ariadne’s dreams and transformation whilst on the island, and use an Owl to symbolise her dream state and a hare as a symbol of fertility, rejuvenation and rebirth. All the images contain a golden thread- which she used to help Theseus defeat the Minotaur.

My work is on show until September- and has already started selling!
